săan is a handbag and accessories brand that features ethically-sourced, handcrafted products from fair trade and handicraft collectives in different rural parts of Thailand. Our products are handmade by several groups of all-female Thai artisans, using only natural materials such as water hyacinth, raffia, rattan, and cotton.
Our 2021 collection of woven totes and handbags are sourced from a small peaceful village hidden among the mountains in the upper Northern region of Thailand. A place full of abundant natural resources like water hyacinth, which may seems like an ordinary material, but for decades, has helped create and maintain stable occupation and income for locals artisans in the area.
Due to the handmade nature, our products can slightly vary in shape, size, and color. No one bag is exactly the same and may have some imperfections, which we believe only adds to their uniqueness and story. Our one-of-a-kind products are slow made in small quantity. Please allow up to 30 days for production.
